After his injury, Blue Tomato team rider Mathias Weißenbacher is back on his board! Apart from some news, he also shows us a short video edit!

I’ m finally back on board Yihhaa!
So yeah after I got back from France/rehab last week, which was pretty good (they did a awesome job there), I went straight up the mountain for getting the feeling back on my board/leg!
And yeah it went well! I also did a little webisode back on board clip filmed by Thomas Kesselbacher… check it out!

Blue Tomato Team Rider Mathias Weißenbacher with a short update and some nice videos!

It´s snowing-  finally -  yesss  I’ m gonna shoot some street spots the next days!

What have I done the last few days ? Nothing, had a little time out of snowboarding and everything! Now I’ m back with power and I already had a funny little
session …here is the video clip:

and also my short video part from Blue Tomato.. at least i got some cool shots!, haha

And yeah, what’ s up next? Next weekend the 5 Star TTR Stuttgart BIG AIR is going down .. so I will keep you up to date about the competition!

Blue Tomato Team Rider Mathias Weißenbacher about his season start and his win at the 4 Star TTR Nissan Stomp It!

It was a pretty good weekend for me ! After I missed the finals  of the  Worldcup in London , because I ended in 9th place in the Qualis and just 6 went through, I packed all my stuff and went on the same day to Italy-Modena for the 4 Star TTR Nissan Stomp it !

The Jump in Italy was pretty scatchy so I tried to do my best. It was a Corner-jump but everyone just went over it so it was kind of like a normal Jump with a really soft and scatchy 5 meter landing
In the Qualification I did a BS 720 mute – ended in 10th place and 16th went through !

In the finals we had 3 runs – best counts ! I was thinking about to do a BS 1080 mute grab as my first trick in the finals – The takeoff and  In-run got soft really fast, so I thought it would be better to do it in the first run cause that was the only way to get enough speed for this trick!

So I did it and I pretty much overshoot the whole landing– BUT  I landed my BS 1080 mute and I got really good points for it !! At the end I won the 4 Star TTR NISSAN STOMP IT in
Italy and I’m really stoked about it !! Wooop!

I think for me it was the best thing to start my season and I’m really looking forward to it Hopefully a video and some pictures are coming soon

It is true! We officially become the Gold Partner of the TTR World Snowboard Tour!  And there is something in it for you too. There is a big prize to be won.

The ‘TTR (Ticket To Ride) PRO SNOWBOARDING’, a non-profit organization, was  founded in 2002 by mastermind Drew Stevenson, together with snowboard legends Terje Haakonsen and Reto Lamm. Since then the tour unifies the biggest and best independent single snowboard events into a world ranking tour.

To celebrate this partnership, we from Blue Tomato and the TTR have joined forces for a competition for all snowboard fans. The main prize is a trip for 2 to Oslo/ Norway for the inaugural TTR 6Star World Snowboarding Championships (WSC), which will take place from February 12 to 19 , 2012.

Since 1999, the WSC are the first world championships organized by snowboarders and will be held every four years from now on. In Oslo, snowboarding’s crème de la crème will compete in the disciplines halfpipe and slopestyle.

BT Teamrider Mathias Weissenbacher befindet sich bereits seit einer Woche in Neuseeland und bereitet sich dort auf den Auftakt der neuen Saison 2011/2012 vor. Das Material passt perfekt und die Bedingungen am Schnee könnten nicht besser sein. Am nächsten Wochenende wird Mathias den 4 Star TTR Billabong Slopestyle im Snowpark von NZ rocken. Wir drücken dir die Daumen, Mathias.

Since about one week BT team rider Mathias Weissenbacher is in New Zealand preparing for the start into the new season 2011/2012. The equipement fits perfectly and the conditions on snow couldn´t be better. Mathias is really looking forward to the 4 Star TTR Billabong Slopestyle at the Snowpark in NZ. We´ll keep our fingers crossed, Mathias.

Best Rider at Burton Špindl Spring Sessions 2011

Letztes Wochenende startete die Burton Spindl Spring Sessions in der Tschechischen Republik, bei welcher Blue Tomato teamrider Ville Uotila wieder einmal sein Können unter Beweis stellen durfte.

Los ging es am ersten Tag mit dem Skullcandy Trick Countdown mit mehr als 30 Snowboarder, welche ihre Tricks zeigten und das Publikum so richtig einheizten. Am Ende gewann Ville Uotila mit einem coolem 1080. Corner Session war die nächste Disziplin und auch hier zeigte Ville die beste Air-Performance und gewann.

Für die Gesamtwertung zählte der Eindruck aller Fahrten und auch hier konnte Ville die Jury überzeugen und bekam den Titel: Best Rider of the competition.
Sowohl die Organisatoren als auch die Fahrer waren der Meinung, dass der frisch geshapte Park perfekt für coole Tricks auf hohem Niveau war. Ville Uotila war derselben Meinung und genoss die freundliche Atmosphäre, das frühlingshafte Wetter und fand es richtig cool dabei gewesen zu sein.

Total Fight’s 4^th Winner in a Row

Die Woche davor fand der erste 4Star TTR Slopstyle Wettbewerb in Andorra statt. Der Total Fight hat sich mit seinem vielseitigen Setup, hohem Fahrerlevel und guter Stimmung in sieben Jahren Eventgeschichte einen sehr guten Ruf in ganz Europa verdient. Der Blue Tomato Teamrider Ville Uotila holte sich zum vierten Mal in Folge den Sieg und wurde dafür mit 500 Swatch TTR Weltranglistenpunkten und einem großen Anteil der insgesamt 25.000 USD Preisgeld belohnt. Sieht aus, als würde sich der Finne in Andorra wie zu Hause fühlen!

Glücklich und erleichtert sagte Ville nach dem Wettbewerb: „It was my 4th time in a row. It’s just amazing how I feel to ride there. Always super stoked to be there and maybe that’s reason why i’m doing well there.”

Auch erfolgreich war der Blue Tomato Teamrider Mathias Weißenbacher, welcher den vierten Platz belegte.

Best Rider at Burton Špindl Spring Sessions 2011

Last weekend the Burton Spindl Spring Sessions in the Czech Republic well and truly kicked off and the Blue Tomato teamrider Ville Uotila showed once again his ability to ride.

Let’s check the first day and the snowboard wheel of luck – Skullcandy Trick Countdown. In this competition more than 30 riders showed their tricks, but Ville Uotila threw down a 1080 and won. Corner Session was the second main discipline with the Corner placed at the end of the main line and which was super huge, with its 12 meters height and 25 meters length. In the end, the best air was performed once again by Ville Uotila.

For the overall ranking the general impression of all rides was crucial Also here Ville convinced the judges and got the title: best rider of the competition.
Both organizers and riders agreed that the park was really well prepared and ready for tricks on a high level. Ville Uotila had the same feeling, as he said that it was really nice and relaxing to be a part of this competition, enjoying the friendly atmosphere, the spring weather and the nice crowd of the people.

Total Fight’s 4th Winner in a Row

A week before the first 4Star TTR Slopestyle Event in Andorra took place. The Grandvalira Total Fight is known for its diverse Setup, its great driver level and a really good atmosphere. The Blue Tomato teamrider Ville Uotila succeeded the 4th time in row and got 500 Swatch TTR ranking points plus a huge part of the total 25.000 USD prize money. Looks like Ville really feels at home in the Spanish Andorra!

After the competition the stoked Finnish Ville said: “It was my 4th time in the row. It’s just amazing how I feel to ride there. Always super stoked to be there and maybe that’s reason why i’m doing well there.”

Also successful was Blue Tomato teamrider Mathias Weißenbacher, who achieved the 4th place.

Ville Uotila und Mathias Weißenbacher sind dabei!

Am kommenden Freitag wird mit dem Grandailira Total Fight presented by Burton & Coca Cola der erste 4Star TTR Event im spanischen Andorra ausgetragen. Der Total Fight hat sich mit seinem vielseitigen Setup, hohem Fahrerlevel und guter Stimmung in sieben Jahren Eventgeschichte einen sehr guten Ruf in ganz Europa verdient. Neben insgesamt 25.000 USD Preisgeld können die Snowboarder im Slopestyle Wettbewerb bis zu 500 Swatch TTR Weltranglistenpunkte gewinnen. Die Qualifikation startet am Freitag, 25. März und das Finale wird am Samstag, 26. März nach dem K.O. System ausgetragen.

Wird Ville Uotila seinen Titel beim Total Fight zum vierten Mal in Folge verteidigen?

Der Blue Tomato Teamrider Ville Uotila hat den Total Fight bereits dreimal in Folge gewonnen und wird auch dieses Jahr wieder in Andorra an den Start gehen, um seinen Titel zu verteidigen!
Doch auch Blue Tomato Teamrider Mathias Weißenbacher wird für Österreich die rot-weisse Flagge in Spanien hochhalten. Nachdem Mathias bereits im Januar den 4Star Engadin Snow gewonnen hatte, fuhr er erst kürzlich beim 3Star Shred Down Austrian Masters im Slopestyle zum Sieg und stand auch in der Halfpipe als Zweiter auf dem Podium. Somit werden ihm auch gute Chancen für eine Podiumplatzierung in Grandvalira zugesprochen.

Ville Uotila and Mathias Weißenbacher are present!

On Friday 25^th March the Grandailira Total Fight presented by Burton & Coca Cola will take place and with this, also the first 4Star TTR Event in Andorra. In the last seven years the Total Fight gained a lot of reputation with its diverse Setup, the great driver ulevel, and a really good atmosphere. Besides the prize money of 25.000 USD, the participants can win up to 500 Swatch TTR ranking points. The qualification starts on Friday 25^th March and the final will be held under  K.O. system, on Saturday 26^th March.

Can Ville Uotila defend his title and win the forth time in a row?

The Blue Tomato teamrider Ville Uotila has already won three times in a row and also this year he will be present in Andorra in order to defend the title!

But also Blue Tomato teamrider Mathias Weißenbacher wants to show his skills and represents Austria in the spanish Andorra. After he already won the 4Star Engadin Snow in January, he also grabbed the slopestyle victory and the second place in halfpipe at the 3Star Shred Down Austrian Masters. Therefore he is also one of the top favorites in Grandvalira.

Am ersten Märzwochenende fand der 3* TTR Shred Down Austrian Masters 2011 auf der Nordkette/Innsbruck und am darauf folgenden Wochenende in Westendorf statt. Dabei stellte  Blue Tomato Teamrider Mathias Weißenbacher wieder einmal sein Können unter Beweis.

Dabei konnte sich Mathias gegenüber dem Vorjahressieger durchsetzten und holte sich den Titel österreichischer Halfpipe-Meister! Am darauf folgenden Wochenende wurde der Titel in der Disziplin Slopestyle vergeben. Und wie sollte es anders sein, auch hier triumphierte Mathias Weißenbacher! Er holte sich mit einem gewaltigen Double Backflip, einem Frontside Boardslide und einem Backside 1080 auch noch den Titel österreichischer Slopestyle-Meister.

Doch bei den beiden Meister-Titel blieb es nicht. Mathias gewann den „K2 Jib Knights“ und auch den Titel Austrian Masters 2011 Overall Champion (Halfpipe + Slopestyle).

In the beginning of March the 3* TTR Shred Down Austrian Master 2001 took place in Innsbruck and on the following weekend in Westendorf.  Once again Blue Tomato Teamrider Mathias Weißenbacher  showed off his ability to ride. He won out over the previous year’s winner and rewarded himself with the title Austrian Halfpipe-Master! On the next weekend the Slopestyle title was awarded and also in this discipline Mathias Weißenbacher wasn’t beatable with a gigantic Double Backflip, a Frontside Boardslide and a Backside 1080. Now he can call himself  the Austrian Slopestyle- Master.

But two titles weren’t enough for Mathias Weißenbacher. He also won the “K2 Jib Knights” and the title Austrian Master 2011 Overall Champion (Halfpipe + Slopestyle).

Geglückte Rückkehr des Air&Style nach München vor 16.500 Zuschauern im Olympiastadion München!

München, 12. Februar 2011 – Der Sieger des Nike 6.0 Air&Style Munich 2011 ist Peetu Piiroinen aus Finnland. Mit einem Cab 1260 Mute Grab und einem Frontblunt 270 (93,07 Punkte) im Superfinale der besten Vier sicherte er sich vor 16.500 begeisterten Zuschauern im Olympiastadion München den begehrten Ring of Glory. Zweiter bei diesem Swatch TTR World Tour 6-Star Event wurde Seppe Smits (BEL/91,6) vor unserem Blue Tomato Teamrider, Halldor Helgason (ISL/77,6), welcher die Finals mit einem sauberen Bs 1080 Double Cork und einem Switch 50-50 Halfcab Out am Stairset eröffnete und dann in Run 2 und 3 leider stürzte.

Der Kicker ist perfekt geshaped. Das warme Wetter und die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit können dem Schnee nichts anhaben. Im Gegenteil: Sie sorgen für eine weiche und sichere Landung. Die Fahrer zeigten sich begeistert vom Zustand der Schanze.
