You waited such a long time? You gave your calendar bad names and listed every day just with a red cross? If it´s like that, you can relax now! Because the time of The Art of Flight in Austria has come and the Cineplexx Apollo cinema in Vienna will open the doors for all the snowboard fans out there!

Quiksilver and Red Bull rider Travis Rice, Curt Morgan and other members of the Crew will be at the premiere in Vienna and for sure they will sign so many auto grams that they can´t write any more! When? At the 9th of November at 3 pm in the Blue Tomato Store Vienna!

Fresh snow, clear blue sky and three days of sunshine accompanied the visitors through an unforgettable opening – perfect conditions to start the season in the Snowpark Kaunertal with lots of action. The open park and the contest line were perfectly shaped, which was great for the riders to show their best tricks and jumps. The pros and amateurs battled in the contests on the kicker line, equipped with a canon box and a pipe, which guaranteed also jib-fun.

But not only the snow park was full of action. The testival area with 50 brands held out against the big run and people tested their gear three days long. We guess that there was no visitor who didn’t take home some nice goodies from the blue Tomato tent! The people had a lot of fun trying the wheel of fortune and winning some nice Blue Tomato stuff.

The freeski pro Roy Kittler scored with a „right side cork 9 blunt“ at the first kicker and with a „switch left side 900 mute“ at the second kicker and was the winner of the freeski contest. American snowboarder Eric Beauchemin convinced the
judges with a „cab 9 und BS rodeo 7 nose grab“ and won the prize money for the best snowboarder.

Last weekend the Landiwiese in Zürich was the spot where all freestyle fans gathered when Teamrider Halldor Helgason won the snowboard competition!
On Friday night the weekend got started with the Riders Welcome Night at Sihl City! A great party; people were relaxed, the riders were motivated and Mambo Kurt and Drifter&Mortenson brought some sweet beats! But theres no rest for the wicked, the next morning we got up early because at 11am freestyle.ch 2011 kicked off with a bang!
Till 1pm the labelarea was the main interest of the crowd. There was a lot of action at the Blue Tomato tent! We entertained  with great goodies and the fwheel of fortune was spinning all day long!

Around 1pm the qualis started and it was time for the riders show if they had what it takes to win the freestyle.ch 2011! The Blue Tomato Teamriders Tobi Grünwald and Max Grünwald were on site shredding up the various skateramps!

As the sun started setting you could hear the sweet sound of Lil Jon busting out a wicked live performing! Thanks to open-air Frauenfeld, because he knew how to motivate the crowd for the big Crossoversession!
At 10pm the real party got started at Härterei, the biggest party of the weekend and it was definately worth a visit! On two floors the DJs were heating up the air and the crowd was dancing all night long till the morning came!

On Sunday afternoon the finals started:

From the snowboarders it was Blue Tomato Teamrider Halldor Helgason who dominated! He inspired the crowd and the judges with a Frontside Double Cork 1080! This trick you land almost blind which is why it´s so difficult, but Halldor carried it out with near perfect execution and had enough style to become the freestyle.ch winner of 2011!! On second place was Seppe Smits and third Ståle Sandbech.

In Freeski the swiss ruled the ramp! Elias Ambühl won the Freeski contest after placing second for two consecutive years, and directly behind  him in second place this year was the 16 year old Kai Mahler!

In the FMX and the Skate disciplines the role models quickly took the lead! FMX legend, spanish Dany Torres won! Tom Pagès placed second and Petr Pilat third!

In skateboarding it was Canadian Pierre-Luc Gagnon who won, as expected! Rony Gomes took second place and Adam Taylor third!

Honestly, it was an amazing weekend with a lot of action and a lot of partying! However the planning for the freestyle.ch goes on and the date for 2012 is already set to 23. and 24. September! And Blue Tomato will be there for sure!

The tyrolean Kaunertal rests in silent peace at the moment, but at the 14^th of October you will no longer hear the birds, instead you will listen to great beats and watch the riders! Yes, no longer waiting for the winter, because it´s starting at the Kaunertal glacier! This will be the 26st time the opening will take place. Blue Tomato will for sure, also be there and when you have a look at the time table of this year opening, you can feel it already: Oh yeah, this is going to be a great weekend!!

The Kaunertal opening is lasting for three days, beginning at Friday ending at Sunday. The pro contests are planned on the first two days Friday and Saturday, on Sunday there will be the amateur contest!

Last year it was a little riders heaven up at the glacier. What that means: sitting in a lounge chair in the sun, listening to the beats of the DJ and watching the pros at their show. But this year there will be another great action during the day, going in the park and not just watching the pros instead riding with the pros!! This will be the first time the fun park has opened for everybody pros and amateurs at the same time, the whole day!

But there is not only a great day program, you can be sure there will be parties you´ll never forget! In the evening the opening is going on in the valley, in Feichten. On Friday and Saturday there are live acts also!

Like every year the amateur contest is a big highlight of the weekend. Everybody can join this contest, doesn´t matter if you are a freeskier, snowboarder, a boy or a girl! What you need to do to join the contest? You just have to register at the riders office at Friday, Saturday or Sunday morning and then rock the Kaunertal glacier!!

Lipstick Productions is a European female snowboard movie production. It´s set up by riders for riders. A plattform for girls to go riding, shooting and filming together all over Europe.  Beeing creative, funny and not taking everything too serious…it´s all about looking damn good!

Lipstick Productions was created pretty spontaneously and already late in the season, but the girls needed to implement this idea, as there is no European Girls Snowboard Movie Production among hundreds of male ones. After everything was kind of set, they started their first film trip to Helsinki in February. They unfortunately missed the first and only big snowfalls in Europe. Anyways they managed to get enough footage in only four months. In fall you can watch their first movie!

The film will be – as simply as it sounds – all about girls having fun on their boards. The Lipstick Girls are trying to not tumble in the powder, collecting backcountry & street experiences, travelling to extraordinary destinations, get to know other cultures, riding slushy parks in spring to progress & go surfing in summer! The hardest thing is looking still damn good while doing all this, as some people will hopefully watch this European All Girls Flick! Vor uns liegt ein super Wocheende, angeführt wird vom QParks Finale am Dachstein, wo Snowboarder und Freeskier am Samstag und Sonntag ihre Skills von sich geben, um den heiß begehrten Tour Sieg! Mehr Infos zum QParks Finale findest du hier!

Ab 3 Uhr nachmittags heißt es am Samstag und Sonntag dann für alle Dachstein-Shredder, ab zum Ramsau Beach um mit uns zu chillen, bei coolen Sounds von ALX & MARIO und Essen for Free (für alle QParks Tour Rider, für alle anderen bitte 4€ checken für ein leckeres Essen) am Beach wird uns der Tag versüßt! Um 17:00 Uhr wird s dann richtig spannend beim QParks Prizegiving!

Ein richtig chilliges Wochenende liegt vor uns und wir würden uns super freuen, wenn ihr Teil davon werdet und uns am Ramsau Beach Gesellschaft leistet!

Was gibt`s Cooleres als das erste Mai Wochenende bei einer leckeren Grillage und chilliger Musik mit am Beach zu verbringen? Join us!

Am Samstag Abend geht`s dann weiter mit Party auf der Horsefeathers Party im Cult Club ab 21:00 und wer denkt das wäre alles, falsch gedacht! Auch am Sonntag heißt es “The party goes on” bei der Adidas Eyewear Party in der Friends Bar ab 21:00!

Dieses Wochenende verspricht unvergesslich zu werden! Don`t miss it!!!

Schon am Donnerstag hieß es für uns ab nach Podersdorf, voller Freude packten wir unseren Bus und starteten ab Richtung Neusiedlersee. Dort angekommen hieß es gleich mal unseren Blue Tomato Stand aufzubauen. Mit jeder Menge Energie und voll mit kreativen Dekoideen bauten wir unseren super schönen Stand auf. Es hieß nur noch die vielen Kisten voller Klamotten auszupacken, die wir extra für euch mitgebracht hatten.

Am Freitag strahlte dann unser Zelt im Haiti Style mit vielen Boardshorts, Bikinis, Sunglasses und anderen Stuff am Ufer des Neusiedlersees. Umrahmt von vielen anderen Zelten gab es jede Menge Action am Blue Tomato Stand, von Glückspiel bis Indoboard Session hatten wir alles zu bieten. Sehr cool war für uns auch, das der Surf Feestyle Contest direkt vor unseren Augen stattfand. Sehr gefreut hat uns da natürlich, dass der einzige Österreicher Max Matissek die Quali mit einem sehr coolen Trick gewann. Leider fehlte es dieses Wochenende an Wind. Somit mussten die Surfer Pros mit einem Jetski gezogen werden um im Fahrtwind, dann ihre Moves zu zeigen!

Am Ende des Abend hieß es dann, “It`s Partytime!”. In den vielen Zelten, wurde Musik vom Feinsten gespielt und unserer Meinung nach, hatte bestimmt Jeder der vielen Surfbegeisterten jede Menge Spass. Von Hip Hop bis Dance Musik wurden alle Wünsche erfüllt.

Fazit: Das erste Surf Worldcup in Podersdorf war ein voller Erfolg, da konnten auch die einzelnen Regentropfen Nichts daran ändern! Also für alle die dieses WE verpasst haben. Packt eure Koffer und ab nach Poderdorf! Es warten noch 7 Tage im Surfmekka Österreichs auf euch.

Und don`t miss im Blue Tomato Stand, der extra für euch jeden Tag von 10:00 bis 18:00 geöffnet ist!
