Hossegor, Frankreich – es ist Ende September und wir befinden uns an einem der schönsten Surfspots Frankreichs. Weltweit bekannt ist Hossegor für seine Beach breaks, wo man
schon Barrels bis zu 6 Meter vorfinden kann. Ein Paradies für Surfer ohnegleichen und eine perfekte Lokation für den Blue Tomato Sommerkatalog!
Zunächst gehts mal ab zur Unterkunft ins Surfcamp, wo bereits die ersten Shots statt finden. Das Natural Surf Lodge im Herzen von Hossegor eignet sich durch den zentralen Standort perfekt für Jene die es vorziehen nicht weit zum nächsten Surfspot zu gehen beziehungsweise zu fahren. Für uns wie geschaffen als erste Shooting Lokation wo unser Fotograph Marcel Lämmerhirt gleich los legt und sich warm schießt. Einen besseren Shooting Start hätte man sich nicht wünschen können.
Bei so einer schönen Umgebung tut man sich richtig schwer was die Auswahl des Shooting Ortes betrifft denn hier hat man die Qual der Wahl angefangen von La Piste, Le Penon, Les Estagnotes oder Beausoleil die Auswahl der schönsten Surfspots ist unendlich, genauso wie die Auswahl der Models, da wir ja nicht vor Ort kasten können, sind wir für die tatkräftige Unterstützung von Nikita sehr dankbar!
Es wird gezupft und die Moves werden oft wiederholt solange bis alles im Kasten ist und Marcel sein okay gibt. Dass Modeln nicht nur heißt in der Sonne liegen und gut aussehen, wissen wir seit Germanys Next Topmodel.
Jedes Foto ist nur so gut wie der Jenige der hinter der Kamera steht und fotographiert! Kein wunder, dass unser Katalog so gut geworden ist – denn wir hatten einen der Besten hinter der Linse!
Marcel Lämmerhirt, wohnhaft in Arlberg,Österreich begann 2005 seine Karriere als Stufffotograf bei Völkl, wo seine Bilder weltweit in Magazinen und Werbungen veröffentlicht wurden. 2008 arbeitete er für Red Bull als Photofiles Fotograf und 2010 ging er bei Red Bull Illume in der Kategorie “Wings” als Gewinner nach Hause . Nach dieser Auszeichnung darf er sich wahrhaftig als einer der besten Action Fotografen nennen. Doch das Jahr 2010 war damit nicht zu Ende, er wurde Teil des SanDisk Extreme Teams. ” Es ist eine riesen Ehre Teil dieses Teams zu sein”, so Lämmerhirt.
Nach ereignisreichen 2 Wochen ist alles im Kasten!
Nun sind die Fotos bereit und die Auswahl kann beginnen, ein Bild darf erst dann in den Katalog wenn es vielen kritischen Blicken stand halten konnte und das Rating gewonnen hat.
Nachdem die Seiten am Computer erstellt wurden die Texte geschrieben und die Bilder ausgewählt wird alles in die Druckerei geschickt. Spannend welchen Weg so ein Katalog zurück legt bis er in unseren Händen landet.

Hossegor, France- its end of september and we are at one of the most beautiful surfspots of france. Hossegor is worldwide famous for its beach breaks where you could find barrels up to 20 feet. No questions that this is a real paradise for surfers and a perfect loction for the shooting of our surfcatalogue.
First stop – the Natural Surf Lodge where we’ll live for the next weeks. This place not far from Hossegor Center is not just amazing for people who dont want want to drive hours to the next surfspot, its also perfect for our first shooting session. Marcel Lämmerhirt our photographer, didnt waste time and launch with taking the first shots. We couldn’t have imagine a better start of our shooting trip.
At this beautiful sourrindings its really hard to decide when there is so much selection. Started from La Piste, Le Penon, Les Estagnotes or Beusoleil – here the choice of the most beautiful surfspots is infinite.
As beautiful as the locations are La Piste, Le Penon, Les Estagnotes or Beausoleil as you can see one beautiful place after another.
You shouldn’t forget the work behind the scenes, the organization in the background, the steps and processes that the pictures can be taken. You have to have a look that the brand is presented in the right way that model shows all the important things of the clothes, on which picture everybody looks perfect everything is on the right position! You can see there is lots of organization, concentration and patience needed, the same thing with the models, we can’t do a casting so we are really pleased that we have such a big support from Nikita.
Model Business is hard and exhausting, but you are a real model when you even look good when you are sleeping!
The most difficult thing here is to catch the right moment with the camera. There is this special emotion and feeling in the air during the sunset, to catch it on the picture is not that easy.
Every picture is just as good as the man behind the camera! No wonder that our catalogue is that good, we had one of the best photographer. Marcel Lämmerhirt from Germany, now living in Arlberg, Austria. He started his career 2005 as Stuffphotographer at Völkl, where his pictures were published worldwide in magazines and advertisement. 2008 he started working for Red Bull as a profile photographer and 2010 he won the award “Wings” at Red Bull Illume. With winning this award he is entitled to call himself one of the best action fotographer. 2010 wasn’t over yet – he became member of the SanDisk Extreme Team, which is an great honor for him.
After 2 weeks the pictures are done finally. Now they have to be rated and the best pictures have to be chosen out.
After preparing the catalogue pages on the computer, writing the textes und choosing out the pictures, everything is going to be sent to the print company. Really exciting which way our catalogue has to do until we can hold it in our hands.
