Time flyes. One month ago, the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein opend it’s gates for the summmer season 2010.
On the opening weekend we had great fun, and about 400 riders enjoyed the sunshine and 20° C.
The first contest – the Ride and Roar Rail Jam was a great success for the Blue Tomato Team. Flo Galler won the sb mens and our new teamrider Urska Pribosic won the sb wmns.

The finishing of the Opening Weekend was the Horsefeathers party in Schladming, where is seemed like the party will never come to an end.

However, that was just the beginning of the summer season.

Horsefeathers and the Dachstein Team organized some great camps; from jib and chill to girls camps to coaching and scouting weekends. So there was something for everybody. More about the Camps here.

QParks brought the video contest Copy and Post into being, where you have to copy some tricks, put them on video and send them to QParks. You want to show your moves? Then go to qparks.com

And of course there were heaps of shootings, like the Blue Tomato Rookie Shooting.

“Let’s be honest, snowboarding in summer: is there anything better?”
Styrian snowboard pro Flo Galler is eager of the Dachstein Opening 2010! He told us why he will be in the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein as often as possible this summer!

Hey Flo! How is a snowboard pro like you feeling at the onset of summer?
Chilling out, studying and skating are my plans until the Dachstein finally finally finally opens!

Exactly! Soon the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein at the glacier opens. What are you looking forward to?
To many people I haven’t seen for a long time, to a park that could not be better and to the summerlike temperatures that will constantly predominate this season.

Will you buy a season ticket and why should all the others freestylers do so too?
Sure I’ll buy a season ticket, but besides only 25 others should also buy one so I’ll have the park for myself more often. Hehe, I’m just joking… Let’s be honest, snowboarding in summer: is there anything better? It’s warm and you learn five new tricks a day as you don’t have to fear to get hurt because the snow is so soft.

Why snowboarding?
Why not?

Why Dachstein?
Best park, progress, summer feeling, nice people….

How would you describe the park to a friend of yours who don’t know it?
Wicked so wicked so wicked so wicked, 50 runs a day and in these 50 runs you can do 200 rails or 150 kickers!

Let’s look back to the last season… What comes to your mind when thinking about the Dachstein?
Many new tricks, many new friends and bad weather. ☹

What would you as snowboard pro wish for the new setup?
I already know the setup. I hope for clear cold nights and warm bluebird days, then I’d be really happy.

What are your further plans now?
I’ll be one of those who’ll use the park as often as possible, just like last year!!!

Am späten Nachmittag fanden wir diesen Spot – bauten den Kicker und waren schon sehr gespannt ob er funktioniert, da die Landung sehr flach war. Niko hatte den first try und übershootete den baum gleich mal um gute 2 Meter. Da in der Landung aber so viel Powder lag war es nicht ganz so sketchy wie wir dachten und so konnte die Session beginnen.
Die Jungs waren motiviert und zeigten ein paar shifty bonks und fs1. Zum Schluss pullte Niko noch einen fs3 und Flo beendete die Session mit einen sicken fs5 bonk.

Middle of November there was the Sponsor Shooting at the Atomic Superpark Dachstein. This week we feature the Blue Tomato Young Gun, Flo Galler!

An Austrian local hailing from Leoben, Flo has been in the Blue Tomato team for a few years now. Still only 20 years of age he is really heating up and impressing the European snowboard scene at the moment. You will find Flo in the parks such as Absolutpark in Flachau Winkel, Planai Park or the Dachstein Superpark, or sessioning back country spots somewhere in Austria. Keep your eyes on this guy, he is going to big news very soon!

Es war Mitte Februar und es dumpte schon seit knapp einer Woche. Als wir im Forecast hörten, dass in der Nacht der Schneefall abklingen und der morgige Tag sonnig werden würde, war klar dass morgen früh aufstehen angesagt war. Mit großen Erwartungen waren wir early bird auf den Beinen und wurden von blauen Himmel und einer schimmernden Winterlandschaft begrüßt. Also Stuff zusammenpacken, Frühstück im Auto und ab nach Flachauwinkl.

It was in the middle of February and it was dumping since almost a week. As we heard the forecast saying that snowfall will fade overnight and the next day will be sunny, it was clear to us that on the next day we had to get up early. With great expectations we rose the next day as early birds and the blue sky and the shimmering winter landscape showed us that this was the only right thing to do. So folks it´s out now!! After one year of hard work and keeping it really secret, we are proud to present the LOVE TEAMMOVIE !!!! If you want to see sick Snowboarding and of course hard Skateboarding, then you have to come to these premiere.
