With its 1.800 meters, the Blue Tomato Kings Park in Mühlbach am Hochkönig is most likely the longest snowpark of its kind. The British park designer Karl Sanderson and his shape crew have done an outstanding job in the last few weeks in decorating the majority of the 1.800 meter long playground with new obstacles.
So it was time for our snowboarders and freeskiers to check out the park at the Hochkönig! And they did a good job!

On December 29th 2012, a team of filmmakers and photographers and some of our teamriders went to the Hochkönig to put the park’s rails, kickers and boxes to the test. The results of the session at the Blue Tomato Kings Park were tons of fun, freestyle action and fresh shots, which were compiled to a Snowboard Clip and a Freeski Clip.

Frontboards are cool. But you know what’s even better? Frontblunts.

Our snowboard teamrider Flo Galler knows this too and he loves them so much, he even spins 270s out of them!
On his favourite resort, Dachstein glacier, he will show you how to do a great FS Blunt 270 out.
He is snowboarding for 10 years now and he knows what he is talking about when he says that this is a really cool trick.

A few weeks ago, the last days of the season in the Horsefeathers Superpark Dachstein were already in sight. But we knew: it was time again for a big Blue Tomato team shooting!

Beautiful weather, the sun is burning down but our lovely Dachstein always keeps us cool for beeing active for some beloved spring snowboard sessions!

So we decided to go for a huge one and invited our great Blue Tomato Snowboard family of team riders.

The following team members arrived: Ville Uotila, Dominik Wagner, Flo Galler, Rudi Janda,  Georgi Mihaylov, Clemens Schattschneider, Mathias Weißenbacher, Anna Gasser, Paz Gruber, Clemens Millauer, Roli Scharmer, Franki Wörndl and Vanessa Waldenhofer.

We of course invited a photographer, Severin Wegener, to join us on the mountain and capture some of the shown action:

But we didn’t stop here, we also brought our guy for moving pictures, Thomas Kesselbacher, with us and chained him in front of his computer afterwards to provide you with a sweet little edit:

On the past weekend, the QParks Tour Finals went down on the Dachstein Glacier! Both Freeskiers and Snowboarders had to fight not only each other, but also the bad weather conditions. Because of wind, rain and fog, the planned slopestyle contest on the Pro Kickerline couldn’t be held, so the guys from QParks decided to move it to the Pro Railline instead. Our Teamriders brought home FOUR places on the podium! Congratulations to Roli Scharmer‘s first place and Flo Galler‘s second place in the Snowboard Men category! For the skiers, Martin Hauck and Daniel Walchhofer were successful in the Men and Rookie category and claimed a third place each!

And because the Horsefeathers Rock the Top was the Final of the QParks Tour, the Overall winners were crowned, too! Huge congratulations go out to Flo Galler for winning the Overall title Snowboard Men! Martin Hauck just missed the top spot and got second in the Freeski Men, just like Daniel Walchhofer did in the Rookie Overall Ranking, big congratulations to both of you, anyway!

Roli Scharmer (4th), Viktor Szigeti (5th), Georgi Mihaylov (9th) and Dominik Wagner (18th) also placed well in the Snowboard Men Overall ranking, so did Max (8th) and Tobi (15th) Grünwald in the Rookie and Lisa Veith (5th) in the Girls Overall ranking. Alex Moser secured a 7th place in the Freeski Men and Stefanie De Menech the 11th place in the Freeski Girls Overall ranking.

Congratulations again to all our Teamriders and we are already looking forward to next years QParks Snowboard and Freeski Tour!

Spring is everywhere! In late april, most lifts had already closed down. But a small group of snowboard-enthusiasts couldn’t resist to use the snow that still covered most of the mountains. Supported by Blue Tomato, they hosted a spring session right below the parking lot of the Dachstein glacier at “Eagle Mountain” with a Live DJ, BBQ, Beer and of course lots of shredding! They built a kicker, a corner and two raillines and there were filmers and photographers to capture the madness that was going on.
A lot of Blue Tomato Teamriders were involved, Flo Galler, Paz Gruber, Roli Scharmer, Franki Wörndl, Vanessa Waldenhofer and lots of friends shredded every obstacle in sight! Continue reading 'Eagle Mountain spring session'»

Trotz des miesen Wetters war die Stimmung am Samstag  super, vor allem als sich die Blue Tomato Teamrider Marc Swoboda und  Clemens Schattschneider die ersten beiden Plätze sicherten!

Die Volcom Jungs heizten mit cooler Musik und lustigen Kostümen ein. In abgespacten Astronauten-Verkleidungen waren die Jungs ein echter Hingucker. Auch zahlreiche Rider ließen sich vom schlechten Wetter nicht abschrecken und zeigten beim Contest was sie drauf haben!

Für die Rail Jam wurden auf dem frisch geshapten Park drei besondere Obstacles aufgestellt:  eine Riffel to Downrail, eine Kinked Box und eine Elbow Riffel Rohr Compo mit einer Up Pole darüber. Der Contest wurde eingeteilt in Girls, Boys unter 15, Boys über 16 und Open (Pros, Legends).

Mit dabei unsere Blue Tomato Teamrider Marc Swoboda, Roli Scharmer, Clemens Schattschneider und Dominik Wagner. Auch dabei, aber diesmal auf der anderen Seite des Contests, war Flo Galler, der die Rolle eines Jugdes übernahm. Voll konzentriert und mit einem Klemmbrett unter dem Arm, verfolgte er mit Adleraugen das Geschehen.

Nach der Qualifikation wurde der Grill beim Volcom Zelt angeworfen, wo man sich for free richtig den Magen vollschlagen konnte! Neu gestärkt rockten Marc und Clemes schließlich das Finale und sicherten sich so den 1. (Marc) und 2. Platz (Clemens)!

Auch zwei Mädels fanden sich unter den Ridern: Isy Szumovski und Klara Dinold zeigten ihre Girl-Power an den Obstacles.

Nach dem Finale und einem super spannenden Contest wurde zum Ende die Siegerehrung vollzogen. Mit coolen Preisen und einem Ticket nach Laax zur European PBRJ Championships am 16. April endete schließlich der Tag für die Gewinner. Ein Highlight war auch der Preis für den “coolsten Fahrer des Tages”, den, kaum zu glauben, ein 50-Jähriger Contest-Teilnehmer bekam. Voll motiviert und körperlich in Bestform, zeigte er den Jungs, dass man auch in diesem Alter richtig stylisch über die Kinked Box kommt.

Despite the miserable weather, the atmosphere at the Volcom Peanut Butter Rail Jam in the Blue Tomato Snowpark Stuhleck was great, especially when our Blue Tomato teamriders Marc Swoboda and Clemens Schattschneider achieved the victory! 

The Volcom guys heated up the mood with cool music and funny costumes. In spacy astronaut suits the guys were a funny eye-catcher. Also lots of motivated riders didn’t mind the bad weather and showed their best tricks on the contest setup. 

For the rail jam special obstacles were built up in the fresh shaped park: a riffle to down rail, a kinked box and an elbow riffel rail compo with an up pole.  The judgement was separated into four categories: girls, boys under 15, boys over 16 and open (pros, legends).

Represented at the contest were our Blue Tomato Teamriders Marc Swoboda, Roli Scharmer, Clemens Schattschneider and Dominik Wagner. Also at the contest was Flo Galler, but this time as a judge: with a clipboard under his arm, fully concentrated, and eagle-eyed he observed the contest.

After the qualification the Volcom guys fired up the grill at their tent, where all food was for free! Full of energy Marc and Clemens then rocked the finals with their sick tricks and finally won.

Also 2 girls joined the contest: Isy Szumovski and Klarand Dinold showed their girl power on the obstacles.

After the finals and an exciting contest, the award ceremony was held. With cool prizes and a ticket to Laax for the European PBRJ Championships on April 16th, the day ended for the winners of the contest. One of the highlights was the title of the “coolest rider of the day”. Hard to believe, but this title was given to a 50 year old man. Fully motivated and physically in top form, he showed the boys that also a rider at his age is able to ride the kinked box with massive style!

Letztes Wochenenden wurde wieder dem besten Jibber/-in die Krone aufgesetzt im Absolut Park bei Flauchawinkl.

Königlich und vor allem spektakulär ging der JIB KING contest vergangenes Wochenende in Flauchauwinkl über die Bühne und wieder einmal konnte der  JIB QUEEN und dem  JIB KING die Krone aufgesetzt bzw. übergeben werden. Dem Anlass gebührend dem Anlass war auch das Set Up im Absolut Park von majestätischer Manier um am Freitag erfolgreich in den 2 Tägigen Contest zu starten. Nach dem Battle der Freeskier an diesem Tag kämpften am Samstag die Snowboarder um die Krone.

Und natürlich waren auch unsere Blue Tomato Teamrider mit viel Erfolg dabei. In der Kategorie Snowboard über 15 Jahren gingen Roli Scharmer (3.Platz) und Flo Galler (5.Platz) an den Start. Bei den Freeskiern belegte Martin Hauck in der Kategorie Ski über 15 Jahren den 5. Platz und die Abräumerin des Abends war Stefanie De Menech die in der Kategorie Ski Mädels den sensationellen 1. Platz erzielte! Gratulation!

Last weekend the crown was again given to the best jibbers in Absolut Park in Flauchwinkl.

Royally and even more spectacular the JIB KING contest took place last weekend in Flauchauwinkl, and again could the crown be put on respectively be given to the JIB QUEEN and the JIB KING. Appropriate for this event was also the set up in the Absolut Park majestically so that the start on Friday for the two days of contest was very successful. After the battle of the free skiers on this day the snowboarders were fighting on Saturday about the crown.

And of course also our Blue Tomato Teamrider took successfully part in this event.  Roli Scharmer (3rd place) and Flo Galler (5th place) took part in the category snowboarder over the age of 15. In the category freeskier over the age of 15 Martin Hauck became 5th- but it was a girl who rocked that evening: Stefanie De Menech won in the category Freeski Girls! Congratulation!

Partys mit DJ-Lines – ja, kennen wir, tanzen, aber sonst? Filmpräsentationen – auch bekannt. Steif, förmlich, und danach? Zirkus – für die Kinder ja, aber altbacken und fad.

Nicht so beim “Circus Delüxse – Artisten, DJs, Attraktionen” supported by Blue Tomato am 25.09.2010 ab 20:00 Uhr im ÖGB-Saal in Wiener Neustadt. Die Initiativen Southurban und Struttinbeats, beide langjährig erfahren im Party- und Eventbereich, haben sich mit der Snowboard-Crew Bamboo Motion Pictures zusammengetan und bringen an diesem Abend all das unter einen Hut, das man einzeln sowieso schon lange kennt. Mit von der Partie ist nicht nur das Blue Tomato Team, du kannst auch noch die Team Member Marc Swoboda, Dominik Wagner, Clemens Schattschneider und Flo Galler im Movie bewundern!

12 DJs spielen auf, unterstützt von 3 MCs, als Highlight um 22:30 Uhr die Weltpremiere des Snowboardvideos “Sketchy” von Bamboo Motion Pictures. Dabei wird auf einer musikalischen Reise von Reggae, Dancehall, HipHop über Electro, BreakBeats, Funk bis Dubstep und Drum&Bass jeder Besucher das Tanzbein bis in die frühen Morgenstunden schwingen. Dazwischen launige Moderation, Verlosung von Preisen, Tanzeinlagen, Artisten, Verkleidungen und Live-Piercing & Tattoo.

Parties with a DJ line-up – yes, we know that, dancing, but what else? Movie presentations – also well known: starchy, formal, and then? Circus – for children yes, but frumpy and boring.

But not at the “Circus Delüxse – Artists, DJs, Attractions” supported by Blue Tomato on September 25 at 8pm at the ÖGB-Saal in Wiener Neustadt. The initiatives Southurban and Struttinbeats, both longstanding experienced in parties and events lined up with the snowboard-crew Bamboo Motion Pictures and accommodate all these things on this evening. The Blue Tomato team will be there, but you can also marvel at the teamriders Marco Swoboda, Clemens Schattschneider, Flo Galler and Dominik Wagner, that take part in the movie!

12 DJs will act up, supported by 3 MCs, but the highlight will definitely be the world premiere of the new snowboardvideo “Sketchy” by Bamboo Motion Pictures at 22.30. On a musical trip from reggae, dancehall, hiphop to electro, breakbeats and funk to dubstep and drum&bass every visitor will be on the dancefloor until early in the morning. In between humorous moderation, tombola, dance interludes, artists, costumes and live-piercing & tattoo.

And this all for an occasional price of EUR 5,-. We are looking forward to seeing you!
