What happened in New Zealand and after the trip ???
One month in NZ and we had only two good days in the mountains! The reason was a BIG Blizzard 
Bad luck at the Comps and our car broke down!
I decided that this should not be my start of the new season 2011/12, but it was cool to see the country and I think it was a good experience !
After NZ I went straight to the UK – Cornwall for a week of surfing with family “Nicholls”! It was my first time of “surfing”, so I was really looking forward to it and I really enjoyed it. Now I can do some turns so I am happy after 10 days of surfing So I think I am having my “official” start of the new Season in Hintertux – Tirol:)
Jamie Nicholls and me gonna have an apartment in Mayrhofen from the end of September till the beginning of November and I am really looking forward for some good kicker days up on the mountain !
The next competition will be the London Freeze and right after that an Invitational-Railbattle in England! Wooop Woop News about the competition coming soon …

Die Mountainbikesaison 2011 ging mit der WM in Champery als Höhepunkt zu Ende! BT Teamriderin Petra Bernhard berichtet uns exklusiv, wie sie die spannenden vier Tage erlebte, aber lest selbst, wie sich die WM aus ihrem Blickwinkel abspielte!
Hallo Zusammen!
Die Weltmeisterschaft in Champery in der Schweiz ist Geschichte und so auch unsere Downhillsaison 2011. Die WM begann für mich am Freitag vor einer Woche mit der Pressekonferenz für die WM in Leogang 2012. Die motivierten Leoganger wollen eine perfekte WM auf die Beine stellen. Markus Pekoll und ich waren als Fahrer eingeladen worden.
Am Sonntag fuhren wir in die Schweiz nach Champery, das beim Genfer See liegt.
Wir wohnten mit dem Crosscountry Nationalteam in einem sehr alten Haus zusammen. Insgesamt waren wir ca. 40 Leute. Für Mathias Haas und mich war es interessant mitanzusehen, wie
sich die CC Fahrer auf die WM vorbereiteten, was sie aßen und wie sie sich motivierten. Die Strecke bei uns im Downhill war mehr als extrem hart. Die härteste auf der ganzen Welt finden Mathias und ich. Vom letzten Jahr hatten wir die 150% WM taugliche Strecke mit ihren extrem weiten Sprüngen noch im Gedächtnis!
Am ersten Trainingstag – das war der Dienstag hatten alle Downhillfahrer 5 Stunden lang gemeinsames Training. Mathias zog mich über alle Sprünge. ich war mega stolz alle extremen Step Downs, Tripel und Doubles zu springen. Die Strecke war im Gegensatz zum letzen Mal trocken und extrem schnell. Mathias und ich hatten mega Spass. Das bewies auch das am Freitag stattfindende Zeittraining, das nur für die Startberechtigung am Sonntag war. Mathias landete auf dem tollen 45. Platz und ich auf dem 5. Platz.
Am Sonntag stand dann das Finale vor der Tür und es sollte ganz anders kommen.

Downhill World Cup in Champery

From 1st to 4th September, the Mountain Bike World Cup took place in Champery (Switzerland). All in all 840 riders from 49 nations participated.
Of course, the highlight was the downhill competition on Sunday.
Champery is the most complicated track on this planet. It is extremely steep and has massive jumps. Even when the ground is dry, it can only be managed by top riders.
But it was not dry … Many sunny days before but on the race day it was bucketing down. For sure, our Blue Tomato team riders were there too! Markus Pekoll got 16th and Petra Bernhard was ranked seventh. Unfortunately, Boris Tetzlaff crashed and could not finish his run!
In the relentless rain, Markus Pekolls’ 16th place could be really considered as an success . But Markus is a racer and no longer satisfied with a 16th place.
He started the race with high goals and was even happy about the bad weather conditions, because he knew that in rain, he would normally leave many other drivers behind him.
“I was really motivated looking forward to the World Cup run, and I was also equally good to drive. Even before the first split, I was simply going too fast, lost my rear wheel and the safety net t protected myself. The slide would not have ended so quickly. Shortly afterwards there was a more or less a good job of tearing the eye to tear, apparently I was there, too motivated an torn down like all 8 pieces. Apparently not bad enough for me while I blasted my glasses over my right eye. The next minute I spent with the shoulders somehow, moved the helmet so that I could see something again. In the lower area then due to lack of visibility, I was also tearing away and I flew blindly toward the goal.”
Despite his fall, he managed to rank 16 and let many top riders such as Steve Peat, who also had massive problems, far behind.
Danny Hart from Great Britain has won the world champion title. He conjured with sensational speed the run of his life on the slippery track and with a superior extreme drift curve and a sick Whip at the final jump.
In the women’s shafts, Petra Bernhard got a very good 7th between the world elite. Boris Tetzlaff crashed and could not finish his run then.
Very positive was the performance of David Trummer. The young man won the silver medal in the junior class.

BT Team Rider Mathias Weissenbacher Reports from New Zealand

BT Teamrider Mathias Weissenbacher befindet sich bereits seit einer Woche in Neuseeland und bereitet sich dort auf den Auftakt der neuen Saison 2011/2012 vor. Das Material passt perfekt und die Bedingungen am Schnee könnten nicht besser sein. Am nächsten Wochenende wird Mathias den 4 Star TTR Billabong Slopestyle im Snowpark von NZ rocken. Wir drücken dir die Daumen, Mathias.

Since about one week BT team rider Mathias Weissenbacher is in New Zealand preparing for the start into the new season 2011/2012. The equipement fits perfectly and the conditions on snow couldn´t be better. Mathias is really looking forward to the 4 Star TTR Billabong Slopestyle at the Snowpark in NZ. We´ll keep our fingers crossed, Mathias.

Wakeboard-Training gesucht?
Falls ja, dann habt ihr mit Daniel Fetz einen professionellen Coach gefunden. Mit seiner Wakeboard- Schule Fetzysworld und seiner Erfahrung ist er definitiv eine der ersten Anlaufstellen in Europa. Austriacupfinale in Turnau und Rückblick Downhill Saison 2010

Hallo zusammen!
Unsere Downhill Saison 2010 ist seit dem Austriacupfinale in Turnau / Bruck a.d. Mur beendet.
Es war ein sonniger und somit gelungener Abschluss. Sehr kalt in der früh, aber am Tag warm, hätten wir uns diese Saison sicher mehrmals gewünscht Die Veranstaltung war ein voller Erfolg in jeder Hinsicht! Respekt von Mathias und meiner Seite!
Super organisiert, bestimmt mit dem einen oder anderen Patzer, aber der sollte vorkommen. Im großen und ganzen ein tolles Rennen für alle Beteiligten. Es sollte mehrere solche motivierte Veranstalter in Österreich geben, sodass es wieder eine ganze Rennserie gibt!
Zum Rennen:
Die Strecke war ca. 4min lang, dabei waren 2/3 der Strecke steil, technisch anspruchsvoll durch viele sehr schräge Querpassagen mit Wurzeln. Der letzte Teil war eine extreme Treterei mit Bergaufteilen. Die Lunge sprang uns fast aus dem Körper vor Anstrengung! Aber es war flowig mit einigen weiten Sprüngen das heißt im ganzen gesehen: tolle Strecke!Mathias konnte ein tolles Rennen verbuchen, nach seiner langen Verletzungspause. Er schaffte den 3.Platz beim letzten Rennen, nur 6 Sekunden hinter Markus, der das rennen für sich entschied, und 2 Sekunden hinter Boris, dem 2.Platzierten.
In der Austriacupgesamtwertung wurde er ebenfalls Dritter!
Ich konnte das Rennen und die Austriacupgesamtwertung klar für mich entscheiden.
Weiters haben wir tolle Nachrichten: unser ganzer Focus in den nächsten 2 Jahren gilt der bevorstehenden MTB Weltmeisterschaft in Leogang 2012. Wir schmieden jetzt schon Pläne!
Für Mathias war 2010 leider eine etwas durchwachsene Saison durch seine lange Verletzungspause, aber ein respektabler Abschluss:-) Für mich war es eine der besten Saisonen überhaupt!
Wir sehen uns im nächsten Jahr!
